Torghatten Camping - Reviews

A big camping site. The amenities are clean but there are not enough showers. Friendly and helpful staff. Within walking distance from the Torghatten trail. It also has a good on site restaurant. Very tasty pizzas:)

This is a camping facility that is located near the Mountain hall. Which is famous with tourists that want to hike up the mountain. Therefore, the location is fantastic. But you could always stay outside the camp and come to hike the mountain and park the car for free near the start of the hike. The facility is below average specially the price for small tent is so high 300 NOK. The highest i paid since i came to Norway . The kitchen facility is so small and has lacks all essentials. No table or proper freg/ freezer. No s eating facility to eat. The shower is free. However, you’ll have to continue pushing button for every five seconds approximately to get a hot water. I’d rather pay for it then get a good shower then wait and push a button too many times.. The washer and dryer is up on the top that you have to walk near the apartment and the dryer doesn’t work. The Wi-Fi is very weak and doesn’t work most of the time. No outside seating facilities or shaded area other than the restaurant so if it rains you have to stay in your tent.

auto-translated: Hardly any permanent campers, mainly tourists, plus bathers during the day. Many camper pitches, sites for tents on meadows partly level, partly sloping. Definitely too few sanitary facilities and too small a kitchen for the size of the site. WLAN works at a snail's pace.
Update July 2023: more pitches (especially in the southern part), faster Wi-Fi (several subnetworks on the site), an additional toilet container (you shouldn't be taller than 1.80 here, otherwise the cabin doors won't close).

auto-translated: 400 Nok incl. electricity is definitely too much. The problem with the sanitary facilities has already been described and seems to have existed for years. An additional sanitary container was put up, but it was closed. The owner is paying well for the great location.

auto-translated: A beautiful location, which you can pay for if you choose the 550Kronen. In the evening a Hurtigruten ship passes by and the sea view is brilliant. If the weather is nice, yes I would do it again....

auto-translated: ok site a bit small water points and a real bog hole when it rains is probably a site where the owners do not seem too keen to run a camping site but the opportunity is there for a super site

Fijne camping. Groot maar door de verschillende velden merk je dat niet. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Mobile toilet unit bijgeplaatst en dat was nodig. Keuken echt te klein. Deuren douche bij de heren klemmen erg.

auto-translated: Far too few toilets and showers (3+4). Shower is included in the price, but there was only cold water left at 21:30. WiFi included in the price, it worked in waves. Extremely nice hiking area. Poor facilities at high price. One only pays for a view.

Perfectly sited, very nice walks including the incredible cave through the mountain. Views from the mountain top are magnificent. Campsite itself is nice but let down by small bathrooms and tiny kitchen with no lounge area in case of bad weather. Very pricy at 270NOK for one person with tent.

auto-translated: We were there in mid-August with a camper. We were only a few guests, everything was well maintained, super nice staff, showers and WiFi were included. We liked it a lot. You can really do a lot. WoMo drivers should always remember that we always have toilet and shower etc. ...

auto-translated: Very nice place. Clean sanitary facilities. Place was almost empty in mid-August.
If it is full here in the high season it will certainly be scarce in the sanitary facilities. 6 showers and 6 toilets

Superb place, great location right on the water, with safe part for kids to swim in. Can fish, climb torhhatten, read earlier reviews, didn't recognize the lamenting about showers and toilets. Really recommended, this camping. Would come back right away anytime.

auto-translated: Fantastic surroundings, very extensive terrain.
but the idyll turns out to be a true monster camping site with completely inadequate sanitary facilities! For a true city of tents and camper vans, there are only three WCs, three wash basins and three showers (men and women) which are disgustingly dirty shortly after cleaning due to the large number of visitors. Paper towels and toilet paper are chronically empty and cooking and washing up is out of the question in the mini kitchen. Therefore, despite the surroundings, a bland aftertaste.

auto-translated: Cabin prices around 2000,- NOK are clearly too expensive. Sanitary facilities: not enough for the many campers, unmaintained, not regularly cleaned, toilet paper often not refilled in time, garbage cans so full that they overflow. No playground equipment (swings etc.) for children. The owner of the campsite has to pay a very high standard which he does not offer!
