Vassel Gård - Reviews

auto-translated: A very kind, almost overprotective (which is in no way meant to be negative) owner. We were travelling with the tent, the tent meadow is in the middle of a farm. The campers were further back. The view is very nice, as is the site itself. There is a trampoline and various animals can be petted. The kitchen and sanitary facilities are historical relics, but nevertheless in impeccable condition. Since the campsite is located on a small road with little traffic, it is very quiet on the site. We didn't notice anything negative, please keep up the good work!

Stayed 2 nights at this magnificent place.
The camping is cheap compared to other campsites (135 NOK for 1 person + Car + Tent, electricity and warm showers are excluded and have a small additional cost).
The camping is opperated by a lovely family on their farm, chickens and goats included, the farm and camp ground are built and maintained by the family over generations and it shows. Don't be afraid to put your tent down/setting up your motorhome if nobody is at the reception and noone is answering the given number to call.
The camping has a nice sitting (TV) room with comfortable couches, additional sitting options at the reception. The WiFi free and is super fast and has a good signal strengt.
The sanitary facilities where clean and well maintained, 2 toilets + 1 shower for each gender and 1 for people with a disability.
Tip: There is also this beautifull hike you can do up the mountian 'Samlen' above the camping giving an 270° view of the Hardanger fjord. Just drive up north for a while across the hairpins and the trail should be on your left hand (limited parking space). The first part is pretty steep and the upper can be muddy/soaking wet depending on weather conditions.

auto-translated: Great place to relax! The family is super, friendly and helpful.
Sanitary is already aging but good to use. 175NOK for overnight stays is absolutely ingenious for this place. We want to come back to Norway in 2 years and will definitely rest there again.
