Waxholms Camping - Reviews

Plumbing leaves much to be desired.
Advice: register via the website you will receive a message with codes to enter the site and sanitary facilities. Reception/reception is generally lacking. The times indicated are not correct. You have to figure everything out for yourself.
Overnight rate ridiculously high and applies even out of season.
Some years gdleddn there were new plans for the sanitary facilities, unfortunately this now seems to have been put on the back burner. The site deserves more.

auto-translated: Small site beautifully situated right on the water with a small beach. Very good location to take the ferry to Stockholm. About 15 minutes by bike to the pier in Vaxholm...so that was all that was positive about this place... Sanitary facilities are very old, and clean...well. The reception is a real mess, you think you are standing in a kitchen warehouse. The reservation and the choice of pitch with the completely confused employee, who scribbles a few codes and the pitch number on a piece of paper, is already crass, but the price really takes the cake. At 550 crowns per night, it was the most expensive, with the least service and, above all, the most unclean campsite we have come across in Sweden.

The campsite is in the middle of nature and you are ln 30 minutes walk to the port of Vaxholm. There is also a bus. Super connections to Stockholm and to visit the other archipelago.

The island is very pleasant and it's a nice base to visit the archipelago or Stockholm by boat.
The beach is really spectacular, with two barbecue spots, the mini-golf and the playground are too rudimentary.
Don't miss the Skypark, an acrobranche in the campsite (295 SEK per child).
